Description Suggest change

Dave Das is a fantastic and approachable route for aspiring multipitch trad climbers. Bolted anchors provide ease in station-management and facilitate a straightforward descent. Route finding on the first two pitches is straightforward and the climbing is great. The third pitch offers an additional challenge of harder route finding and less obvious cruxes. Get after it!

P1: Slither your way up and through a corner/chimney to an exposed transition onto a slab with a crack. Follow the crack up and traverse a small ledge (bolt) to a bolted belay at the base of a corner. 5.9/5c. 14m.

P2: Tackle the amazing corner and enjoy the perfect golden granite up to a 2nd bolted anchor. 5.10/6a+. 22m. P1 and P2 can be linked into a nice mega-pitch.

P3: Traverse left off the anchor and follow jugs and pinches into the obvious, beautiful corner. Climb this corner and pull over the lip to a stance on face holds. Traverse back right (crux) and follow jugs/pinches to get back in line with the belay. Step across right onto a ledge feature and surmount the slab above it with a tricky highstep. Continue up and right on easier ground up to a 2 bolt anchor at a slabby ledge feature below an imposing, overhanging prow. This pitch meanders and still has some loose blocks on it; extend pieces and tread with care. 5.10+/6b. 26m.

Near the end of Sethan roadhead (~100m before the end of the road), take the concrete trail down and cross the bridge towards the dam wall. At the meadow facing the huge arch, head left and up towards the wall through the forest aiming for an orange patch of rock. Locate the huge chimney with tiered roofs (project) with a short bolted slab approach pitch. The next line to the left is Dave Das.

Protection Suggest change
