Description Suggest change

The gorgeous pillar visible from the switchbacks on the highway and one of the classics of Rjukan.

A short step of ice gains the snow gully under the route. From here either continue up the gully to its end and traverse left on easy mixed ground or go straight up the ice slabs on your left. The pillar can be climbed in one long pitch or more easily two.

Rappel the route unless snow conditions are amazing and you can walk from the top to the road.

Location Suggest change

From the Vemork bridge parking, continue up the gorge until it takes a hard right turn. Juvsøyla and Trapfoss will be above you on the left.

From Krokan parking, hike back to the sign near the exit of the tunnel, hop the fence, and rappel (or downclimb) the gully to just below Lipton / Rjukanfossen / Verdens Ende. Hike down canyon until Juvsøyla is visible on the right.
