Description
Considered the birthplace of modern skiing and ¨Telemark¨ skiing, the district of Telemark has a lot to offer for outdoor enthusiasts. With more than 150 waterfalls Rjukan is definitely the mecca of ice climbing! Think Ouray, Colorado, but better and all natural! Needless to say, there is also some amazing skiing in Telemark, although most of it is back country. In the summer you can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and river rafting on your rest days. Climbs in this district vary everywhere from seaside cliffs, to high mountain ice climbs, with everything in between.
