Description Suggest change

One of few obvious lines on the boulder, this fun route takes the arete all the way to the apex of the boulder. This is a good warm-up for the harder stuff and a nice preview of the ending of Magnum 40, hence the name.

Sit start on the big jug right of the arete, and make a big move to the arete. Perform a slightly awkward mantle (bonus points if you straddle the ledge and go no hands!), and stand up to arrive at the crux. Do delicate and reachy arete moves to gain the lip of the boulder.

Pedantry: this is technically an eliminate, but it has decent movement. After manteling, one can traverse around left into Four Last Things for an easier finish (Easy-E, V2/3)

You out here trying to function?

Location Suggest change

It ascends the arete in the middle of Pride Rock.

Protection Suggest change

A couple pads and a spotter for the harder insecure moves up top.

The topout is easier and more secure on the other side of the arete.
