Yosemite National Park has yearly closures for Peregrine Falcon Protection March 1- July 15. Always check the NPS website at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/… for the most current details and park alerts, and to learn more about the peregrine falcon, and how closures help it survive. This page also shares closures and warnings due to current fires, smoke, etc.
Description
A really round about way to the pine line bolts but it adds a bit of fun. Really sketchy top rope as you climb past the anchor or equally sketchy trad with risk of a ground fall at one point but overall solid. The crux comes near the top as you traverse over some glass to get back over to the pine line bolts. You have to put two physically easy moves onto two mentally difficult foot holds.
Location
Starts just left of pine line and follows a pretty obvious line up to a blank slab and across to the right to the pine line anchor.
Protection
Some really small spots for pro but it’s hard to fit anything smaller than a cam hook or my smallest nut. There are only 2 or 3 good cam placements but luckily they are on either side of the crux. I plan on adding 2 bolts to the route at the spot with ground fall potential as there is no place for gear
