Description Suggest change

Splashdown A & B are technically two different ice flows separated by rock in between. Both feature some steep climbing of varying ice quality directly above the flowing and usually open and deep river. Not a great lead unless the river is frozen solid below you or you have some other plan to not drop your ropes (and belayer for that matter) into the river. Great for TR laps with a belay set up from above.

Location Suggest change

Just upstream from Pure Energy, Splashdown A is visible from the riverbed if you walk downstream from Pure Energy. See Pure Energy entry for description of approach and where to park.

Protection Suggest change

Standard ice rack.
