Description
This is an alpine route marked by cairns. Most bushwalkers take this ascent from the Southern Traverse. Huge consequences on mistakes. Either weather, poor route finding, or a fall can cost you your life into a 600 meter plummet to Lake Geeves. There are to be found old pieces of webbing, tarp, jackets, etc. hanging from trees below the climb. Unknown if these are fatalities. Be careful. Experienced climbers can cruise on easy terrain ranging from easy 5th class to some 5.1 moves. Down climbing is essential for free soloists. Ropes can be used but there are no bolted anchors or anchors for rappel....Seems like added weight.
