Description

The crux is definitely down low and seemed way hard for the grade. The 3rd clip seems weirdly placed and may have groundfall potential. The painted sign at the bottom listed this as a 5.9, which jived with the new Western Sloper guide available from Wolverine. Maybe I'm just super weak.

Location

This is almost immediately to the left of where the climber's trail meets The Schoolyard wall.

Protection

Draws and a two-bolt anchor shared with Grand Avenue.

Felt like 10b with groundfall potential until the third clip. Still fun though. (Less exciting options would be stick clip or TR off anchors for Grand Ave.) Jul 27, 2017

I agree with the thought that this was WAY harder than 5.9 at the bottom and that the 5.10's in the area were easier and funner than this one. Sep 12, 2016

I am not sure if I read this route wrong or what, but I can't find a way that this thing is 5.9. It felt a solid grade harder to me, and the bolting is not great. The 5.10s in the area all felt cruiser compared to the start of this thing. Not really worth the effort to climb it IMO when there are so many other better routes nearby. Aug 22, 2016
