Description

Between the sharp flake on the east face and a sloping rail, see a series of edges. Start low, making a move into the horizontal slots, finishing with a throw to the sloper at the top of the rail (avoiding the lower, more positive part of the rail).

Location

Rat rock east face, left of the prominent lieback flake

Protection

maybe a crash pad

Was at Rat on 10-2-2017 and the start hold and another critical hold have broken off on this route. Oct 4, 2017

Some of the holds have broken smaller over the years, but the climb still goes - Very cool moves up a direct line of crimps. Modern consensus seems to be ~V4 if finishing the climb by throwing to the rail, and V5 if finishing with the direct mantle. More sustained than "Rat Patrol" (its sister route, sharing many of the same holds) but with no single move more difficult than the crux move of that climb. Oct 21, 2018
