This is the 2nd route from the left on the Main face.

Start at the toe of the wall up a slab and climb past 5 bolts (11b friction). Step left and place gear for the next 50 feet. Climb up the left side of the large roof to gain the upper buttress split by horizontal cracks. Power past the 2 bolt crux then mount the roof for a dramatic finish! This is a long and tedious adventure!

Bolts and gear mixed. A 70 meter rope is required!

"This is long and tedious!"

is that a good thing? Jun 6, 2014

Hey Rob, I guess it depends at what level one's exasperation threshold is no longer fun.... "Chips and Salsa" is long and tedious. For me, that usually means not good, because sending this pitch is really tough, but, I guess most 5.11+ routes are tedious and this one happens to be long. Exasperating! Jun 6, 2014

Great job on this route. I loved it! It was a lot more fun than it looked from the start. I got the onsight, but it required some thinking as I almost blew the crux had to make a step back down and rethink my effort. To me, tedious is doing the same move over and over, but this route has a lot of variety making for a long, interesting climb but not tedious. Oct 16, 2016

Great work on the onsight, Nate! Psyched you got up there to send in the sun! I think a cross between tedious and tenuous is what I was trying to portray as a description.... Tedious meaning tiring and laborious and tenuous meaning delicate and dubious... definitely a committing journey! Oct 21, 2016

Thanks, Drew. Tedious, tenuous, no matter how you describe the route it was good, and I was pleasantly surprised by what this wall had to offer when we took the short trip out here last weekend. I will have to make another trip sometime in the future to climb the rest of the routes. Oct 22, 2016
