Description

From a stand, matched on a left facing block hold, pull on with difficulty and climb up through slopey pinch holds to a juggy hold. From there move left to top out.

Location

On the Block Party Boulder. To get there park at the south shore beach as you were going to hike the Balanced Rock Trail. From the parking, cross the train tracks, then stay right on the grottos trail and walk along the base of the talus and hillside. After a few hundred the trail will be right next to the talus field and a big boulder with a nice looking downhill face will be seen above. That is the boulder, and The False climbs the pretty face.
Approach time: 5-10 min.

Protection

4 pads or more and a good spot

I did a bunch of landing work. Still not perfect but a lot better than it was. Oct 30, 2014

We will see when more people climb it. Peter used a completely different sequence than I, and I tried the way he did it and couldn't do it with his method... Also big props to Peter on the second on this one.. It's finicky problem and intimidating with the landing. Oct 30, 2014

watched Ian on the FA of this one. a combination of tech and power, the rig has difficult smearing, tricky bumps and a sweet dead point. the holds are angular with comfortable thumb catches, very cool stuff. rally the pads and spotters and get on this! Nov 10, 2013
