Description

This is an obvious gully that reminds one of some of the Black Ice Couloir according to Gary. It's nice ice...bring your big pack up and imagine you're whacking away on the back side of the Grand. Yum.

Location

This is near the downstream end of South Park. It is probably the first deep gully you encounter when traveling upstream from the downclimb.

Protection

Ice screws.

Long slings for the big tree above for anchors.

Fun, little, low angle ramp up to the gully. Depending on the conditions, the top 15' can form a pretty gnarly tunnel up the corner to the anchors. Feb 9, 2018
