RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas such as CAT WALL and RESERVOIR WALL in Indian Creek Details

Description

There's a few cruxes with rests in between. Hard to clip the 3rd bolt if there's no draw in.

Location

This route is to the right of Black Widow Arete and is the center route on this wall.

Protection

6 or so bolts to chain anchors

All the great people of the world have people who love to loathe them. Although if you have to hate on a band that preached love and freedom, I think your confused as to why you climb and adventure. No need to love the music, but to praise a death of somebody who affected many MANY people in a positive way is kind of harsh. But hey the effect of his music was big enough to name a few routes at Mill Creek after him. Much LOVE May 28, 2014

Best clip for 3d bolt is the jug past it to the left. Jan 25, 2011
the route to the right is called pissing on his grave and was put up one year later with bob "roundhead" novellino just like grateful he's dead Jan 9, 2009
Yeah, The Dead Rocked!! Compared to most American music of the late 20th century, they were way, way better. Their music also helped me through a few rough psychedelic episodes. I don't listen to them too much anymore, but they sure opened up my eyes to a bunch of other great music that I probably never would have discovered. Thanks Jerry, RIP. Nov 20, 2008

You ladies stop squibbling.
They did suck. They were fun becasue they were good drug dealers, but as musicians, well, I think they only had one song where they actually tried to play as compnents to a band... everything else was a hippie jam fest. Nov 19, 2008
Fair enough Tyler. I didn't mean for that to come off as judgementally as it sounded. Sorry.

To be honest, I didn't even realize you were quoting a song.

Like you, I don't listen to the Dead anymore and have moved on but I am not one to now look back and say it all sucked. It was great for what it was and I had many good times with great people because of their music. I guess my point is that it's one thing for someone to say they didn't like Jerry or the Dead or that they sucked as musicians, but it's another thing to say that you're happy they're dead. I save those thoughts for people like Jim Jones and Saddam.

Cheers,
Brad Nov 19, 2008
Wow. So much negativity in that thought.

It's easy to see why you didn't dig Jerry. Nov 18, 2008
If they are indeed the same route then I vote for leaving the route in the database as the Center Route.

The name apparently given by the FA team is totally lame!

Rest well Jerry.

Please get the information correct before posting, not knowing exactly what you are referring to, this sounds like "Grateful He's Dead" 5.10, FA: Pete Vercheck. Put up the day after Jerry died. Nov 17, 2008
