I was just trying to be prudent and helpful (twice, it seems). I find "Let people take the digger" to be less helpful somehow. One of the best things about MP is climbers encouraging other climbers to have fun and be as safe as possible. We have a climb here in North Conway that is also notorious for nasty slips (the crux moves on the last pitch of Recompense, 5.9), and when I have the opportunity with visitors (if they want the beta), I tell them how to best do that section as safely as they can. (When people take the Recompense "digger" they sometimes break their leg.) I can't remember the last time a visitor stopped me and said, "Nope, I'd rather shatter my tib/fib, but thanks anyway." Who are you guys, the gear police? Peter Lewis you wrote the same comment on a different photo of this same move a year before you wrote this. This route is 5.7 with bomber gear, and if someone slips here leading, they shouldn't even be on the sharp end for a clip up. Chill out. Let people take the digger. Aug 3, 2015
Is that last pro extended a little too much? Oct 2, 2014
