Mike has just passed the "crux" moving into the other crack. However, the hard stuff is not over. This pitch is long and pretty sustained.

This was taken on August 10, 2008. Rain moved in around 1:30 PM and these climbers were caught high on Femp. You can see them as huddled mass near the right hand side of the Book. I think that there were at least 3 in the party, but maybe more. It's difficult to make out in the picture.
1974, homemade harness, painters pants, EBs, and hexes. I don't seem to have much of a rack...them were the days.

1974, homemade harness, painters pants, EBs, and hexes. I don't seem to have much of a rack...them were the days.
I believe these are the variations for pitch 3 of Femp (options b, c, and d). The optional midpoint belay on the standard variation minimizes rope drag, and you can traverse to the cave area from here. I'm not sure where the other variations finish.
