Alison Conrad battling the chimney after the intermediate belay.
We climbed this last week and found it to be a great route in a remote, beautiful area. The 5.8 chimney was very interesting. Instead of a straight-on chimney separating the tower from the main butte, the chimney also had a secondary slot running perpendicular to the main chimney. This produces a wide void with 4 aretes protruding into the middle. Bizarre.
We climbed P1 up the blocks to the end of the hallway. P2 up to the anchors (short, easy). P3 up to the col (longer, strenuous). It was 95' to rap from the P2 anchors to the ground.
The approach was a HUMP. Sep 19, 2007

What an interesting photo - really catches your eye and draws you into what's going on. Be nicer if it were a bit brighter but I suppose that's the nature of the beast considering the vantage point.
