Help finding info on this Zion wall
|
I believe is situated on Deer Trap Mountain but can’t find any info on any lines.
I want to know if there are any routes that go up under the giant roof. |

Bro thats the famous Red Arch Mountain. I must make fun of your lacking research skills. Red Awakening goes right up through the arch. 5.7 A4. There are some other mega-classics on the mountain as well. |

Andrew Havranek wrote: Yeah terrifying indeed. Some of the pics from the A4 route up the middle look full on. And I agree - that arch just attracts the climbers eye. |

I had knee surgery 4 months earlier, and I moved there with a girlfriend that I had met at a previous seasonal. We were house keepers. I used to go back and scramble up to the base of the cliffs, and try and climb as high as I could down climb. Those cliffs just inspire you to go high. I had no idea about climbing or its culture at this time. I met some climbers that worked with me, I was over at one guys dorm and we are getting shitfaced on pacificos. He pulls out his climbing shoes, and I’m like “you need shoes for this shit?”. We ended up leaving to go help out at the Grand Canyon. The management was pretty poor, it was not a good time working there, can’t beat the access though. I just got back from 2 weeks in Zion this week and was absolutely blown away after learning to climb. . Beautiful area, burly climbing. I attempted touchstone and was just blasted! |
