Resolers with fast turnaround time?

Anyone have some up-to-date beta on resolers with a reasonable (2 weeks or less) turnaround time? And that also do quality work, of course. The usual go-to's (Rock and Resole, Positive Resoles, etc) are listing long in-shop times (4-6 weeks). I have planned poorly, and just now (with the spring season coming up) realized that my TC Pros are getting quite thin in the toe.

Yosemite Bum has done them in less than a week for me.

Don't they only do TRAX rubber though?

Yosemite Bum is Evolv. So they use their own rubber. Website lists 7 business days but in my experience if you call them and request a fast turnaround they'll be very responsive. I once told them on a Tuesday that I needed my shoes for the next weekend and I had them by Thursday. But I live closer to Evolv than you do.

Any non-Evolv suggestions?

I contacted them, they do resole climbing shoes. seems like a week or so turnaround, so pretty quickly.

Tom Wandall (formerly of Marmot Mountain Works Berkeley) resoled three pair of my shoes in ~3 days last June for $40/pair.

Tom did a great job, I'll be a repeat customer. He uses Vibram rubber

The best solution is to buy another pair. That way you never get in a bind for resoling turn-around. If the thought of buyig used shoes doesn't creep you out, there are several pair of TC Pros showing  up here every week. You'd almost thing folks are buying the wrong size or something.

I've used our local guys (SF bay area) and been happy.  Vanderwall climbing is the name.  They have been pretty good in communication, so I would message them.   vanderwallclimbing.com

how did  you get in contact with Tom Wandall? I want to resole some shoes, sent him an email, he never responded. Are you supposed to just show up at his shop?

I proposed a scheduling system for Rock and Resole so that you could go in and reserve a drop off time, even if that time was 4-6 weeks out, so that way they didn't have to keep your shoes in a bin in the back for 4-6 weeks before pulling them out at the last minute and working on them.

They said they have been in business for 30 yrs, so obviously their system works.

Sounds like Sears......

You proposed that they rethink their successful business model so you could have your shoes done faster and they didn't go for it eh? Hmmm...

Incorrect.  I proposed that I would get my shoes done in the same amount of time or even slower, but that they wouldn't have to store them for 6 weeks before working on them.

Rock and resole has a promotion of a free resole when you buy a pair of shoes. What are their resoles like 50-60 bucks?  If you are getting it anyway makes the shoes feel cheaper.

I used this deal last year in a bind.

Did you tell them that too?

Yes, even explained how it would save them time and money.  But they would prefer to do things the way they always have......

You might almost think they've been sniffing glue for 30 years.

I just have a couple of pairs... they are all gonna get worn out at some point, and so I don't know if it matters that I have a couple in rotation.

Right now, I am collecting shoes that need resoles... it costs just as much to mail 2 pairs as one.

I am sitting on a pair that shouldn't be climbed in because I'm waiting for the pair I bought to replace them to need  a resole, but I'll get a 3rd pair when those shoes go out, and then I should be good on a rotation for another year or two depending on how much I can climb (a lot, I hope).

Over the course of a couple of years, the money all evens out, I think.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
