Tell me why I should. Seriously. Sell me on what your club, er, website, offers that differs from everything else. (And please don't say "exclusivity"; that doesn't work except for the weakest of the weak.)

Do you guys remember the old children's cereal commercials which sold the product exclusively based on exclusivity? The trix rabbit couldn't get any, in order to get some fruity pebbles barney had to 'trick' fred, and I believe lucky charms and a few others basically were commercials centered around an 'in' crowd getting the cereal while the 'out' crowd couldn't have any. Classic. No comment on the website.

the site is run by a classy group of people. I can tell because they're taking advantage of their competitor's forums to advertise.

Tell me why I should. Seriously. Although there may be many reasons why you should, I'll try to put one in terms that I hope you can understand and that isn't the same old-same old: You sign up for $5 a month (17 cents a day) and the moment you sign-up you're taken to a page where if you do one simple thing you get a $35 chalk bag. You do it again right after you just did it and you get another $35 chalk bag or $120 pair of mad rock climbing shoes. All of a sudden you've gotten $155 worth of things in 10 minutes (all dependent on only you) for $5. You don't have to be a business major to realize that's an incredibly good reason to join.

On porn sites you get a free tour of the site before you fork over the dough.

You GET these items? Or are you entered into a drawing for a CHANCE TO WIN these items? There is a discrepancy between your statement here and what is stated on the front page of the website. You don't have to be a business major to realize that's an incredibly bad reason to join. (When did we start using Business Majors as paragons of good decision-making?)

I would like to join for a few months to check it all out;...but I don't have a pay pal account. I can't, because my children were tapping into it through games sites on facebook, and we were getting billed for their craftiness.....(They are 7,5, and 5 years old)...so we cancelled out pay pal account....Can I pay with a check or Credit Card. Thanks. Todd Gordon $5 is not that expensive, and I am usually lucky when it comes to prizes, raffles, climbing, and life in general......and I would like to contribute stories, pictures, info and such;.....I like to share with the climbing community....Good luck with your new project......

Maybe there is some confusion with this. There is no drawing or raffle. Its not one of those insert your name and hope for the best against the 1 in 100,000 odds; so making two memberships would be pointless. It IS all dependent on you. You make your own luck, when the site states you have the chance to win, it means opportunity, you will have opportunities to win things based on randomly spaced contests. Winning because you posted the best video, joke, story, picture on the site has nothing to do with luck. You do it, you GET the prize.

1 in 100,000... If you have had 100,000 sign up and agree to pay $5.00 a month I am in the wrong business. That's a smooth $500,000 a month. I could do more than dirtbag on that.

You said "you do one simple thing and you get a $35 chalkbag." What you MEANT is "you give us $5 and there is a possibility that you get a chalkbag." Is this a fair assessment of the scheme that the website is using?
