Things that give you "the ick"

I have climbed the Grand, but I can’t even boulder V7. Does that mean I can use alpine draws, but I have to take bouldering falls onto an “outside bed?”

Hey, pass me that sling folded in thirds between two biners

BITD you’d carry 4or so slings/runners over your shoulder with two biners on them.

I want to know who named them "alpine  draws". Please, someone tell me.

Although I could make a guess.

Then there are the "alpine climbs" that finish on a summit below treeline.

Neither really gives me the ick.

I still want to know who named them.

Whoa whoa whoa….Eric please wait 3 more pages before “bust-n-a-cap” in this thread, hahaha.

Alpine draws and Quickdraws are not equivalent,  not even grammatically equivalent

People who rack gate in and people who don’t tie in with a bowline on a Yosemite finish

The Yosemite bowline gives me the ick.  Scott's locked gives me the yum.

Daisy-chained top-ropes give me the ick - literally no reason to do it, a single large slip knot is sufficient.

Worse is when people don't know the daisy chain so they tie a bunch of overhands in the rope.

To bridge the divide, Black Diamond Equipment is now calling them "Alpine Quickdraws."

I am guessing that is the original name. But who thunk it up?

+1 for the Yosemite Bowline.

to complement their "sport slings"?

‘Runner’ or ‘sling’ has always seemed perfectly fine to me.

I call it a high alpine x-rated ice and mixed draw device. That ok?

So no one here knows where the name "alpine draw" , or "alpine quickdraw", came from???

I do believe I know where the name "cordelette" came from. Maybe make a trade???

Trumpers.

Trumpers still give me the ick. as do folks who sit on the fence and allow our country to be hijacked by ignorant racist fascist jerks.

The real ick is the over privileged white liberal college students.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
