I was playing around and found that two ATC's in series works on a 6 mm petzl purline. Extend one and one on the belay loop. Feels like normal friction.

why? its super easy to use one atc with two carabiners.

Multiple biners, stacking ATCs, super munter, grivel scream etc all work ok depending on how slippery the rope is. Mago 8 is the best dedicated device for skinny ropes IMO. Some prusik cords are too thick and won't grab well, use skinnier cord or if you're feeling fancy you could make a micro prusik with technora like I did. 30m of ~2mm dyneema makes a great retrieval line if you manage it properly to avoid tangles.

What diameter is the Technora cord?  I, too, have difficulty making small enough friction cords for 6mm line.

1/8" from maple leaf ropes. It works great on most ropes asides from the purline. On the purline it is good as a third hand but slips under body weight in most configurations; an asymmetric 7 wrapped prusik slips at ~4kn.

I'd go smaller but MLR doesn't sell anything below 1/8". Functionally it is closer to 5/32 with the bury.

I use 5.5mm cord for my Auto block with no problem. Just increase number of wraps for whichever rap line I am using.

Thanks. Small-diameter Technora isn't easy to find.  I have Dyneema as thin as 1/64 (like .5mm), but not Technora.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
