I've forgotten my nut tool way too many times for that thing to not live on my harness these days.

Story time:
If you clean enough cracks of debris, your nut tool can get sharpened to a blade edge.
Swung my arm back to chalk up once, and shit snagged deep into my palm/thenar pad.
Damn captain hooked myself with a nut tool. Hurt so bad, and bled a ton.

Haven't read all 12 pages just the first two pages but it is really annoying to show up at the base of the crag to find a yard sale and no one around. Which in some cases I or my partner have been known to clean up. More or less, as we just put everything in a nice neat pile.

Some of the slang used I have found annoying like "send it" or "sent it." Where ya sending that climb, to yer grandma? Now it's "mission." For fuck sake yer just going climbing.

That’s metal.  Imagine using the nut tool shank as a weapon to fend off a mountain goat while on a long alpine runout.

people that rack/keep racked their PAS, their anchor cordelette, their prusik, their other random soft gear, and their vast collection of various belay devices on their harness while they indoor sport climb

Calling gym climbing "sport climbing".  And yes on the rest of the above, esp if there's multiple (extra credit for more than 2!) belay devices

The never-ending San Diego/ SoCal "Woodson steeze locals only NAWMEAN?!" etc. posts/comments (here, IG, FB). It's very much beyond old at this point, and especially unhelpful when people are looking for legitimate beta or partners or whatever.  What is the goal with that, to sound cool? To be an unhelpful dipshit? Peaked in high school and never learned to read the room? Genuinely curious.  AFAICT it's pretty localized to San Diego so maybe just too much being hit on the head by surfboards or something over the years and brain damage has accumulated.

Also, posting a climb here when all the person does is copy a sentence or two verbatim from a guidebook.

For me it’s posting or printing a picture of a climb anywhere without saying the name and location in a caption.

This may be the nut tool’s final form if using for this purpose. There’s a local developer who uses only sharpened butter knives for cleaning. No brushes or anything else, just homemade shivs. Gets a bucket of them from Goodwill every so often, sharpens them and goes to town.
