5.9 actually encompasses 95% of the climbing experience, especially if you include 5.9+

A 5.9 is 5.9 bro...doesn't matter how it feels or if it's fingers, fists, crimps, jugs, steep, slab, in J-Tree or in the Gunks. Just 'cause someone has smaller hands or sucks at crimping or lives in NY doesn't change the consensus grade. Now with that said I won't tell you that you can't tick a 5.9 as 5.15, but you'll look mighty foolish if ya did, and it won't actually change the grade of the climb.
