Petzl connect adjust, mod etc

What length of cord do you guys get/how many feet of it to convert your adjusts? Like if you were replacing the cord in an evolv? |

For a simple figure 8 tie in through the hard points (or a Scott’s locked bowline) with approximately 5-6” of tail, I found that 7.5 feet gives me a tether that extends to my full reach, with still enough to put a triple barrel stopper on the end, with about 4” of tail on working end. I’m 5’7” with a +3 reach, so adjust accordingly to your body. I would say most folks using it for free climbing and in service of multipitching could order 8’ and adjust from there. The triple barrel is def overkill for the stopper, but I like the added effect of giving me a larger “handle” to pull. |

This ^^^ I have large hands and want something to really grab onto when yarding on it. Might also be less likely to snag in small pockets/cracks as you move up the wall. |

Edit: also it’s likely that the symmetrical baskets would mean there’s probably no reason for flipping the orientation. |

7.3mm Beal Gully works great. Skinny, but probably not as harsh on your tie-in points as tech cord? Also you get some "dynamic" properties and unicore construction for the warm fuzzies. |

Petzl is coming out with the Connect Adjust 2 Real Soon Now. The hole David was thinking of drilling is now a feature, the slot geometry is slightly different, the rope is reputed to be a little thinner, and they've grafted webbing onto the attachment end so that the girth hitch to the harness is less bulky. (Pictures from various European outlets, all of which say "currently unavailable.")
