Great deals on bolts, hangers, and other hardware

Austin Donisanwrote: This really is a great deal. It took a little while for the shipment to arrive but worth the wait. Thanks for the tip! One point of clarification- the pictures of the hangers make them look shiny but they are actually a matte finish which I think is better. |

Where does one order SS glue-in bolts and preferences on bolt. Was going to get Wave Bolts but my understanding is they are no longer produced? Going into Midwest limestone. |

Bolt Products twist bolts from their US distributor Team Tough. 6 mm twist bolts use a 1/2” hole and are not notched. You can also get them with 4 long links of chain for permas and anchors, negating the need for one or two extra quick links depending on the hardware you attach. |

https://e-rigging.com/products/type-304-stainless-steel-chain-sold-per-foot?variant=39740349743177 This would be far cheaper than using a quicklink for the bottom link if you have a good pair of bolt cutters. Should be able to get 5 or 6 out of a foot. |

Call up and tell Tyler what you need, he might just give you a screaming deal and/or do a lot of the cutting for you, if you ask nicely (and maybe mention that you appreciate their support of the C4 Foundation). Pretty reasonable pricing on beefy SS quicklinks as well, and it's a small business, I've always been happy doing business with them. |

Rings work so well when they are set up to move freely. I have used 1/2 stainless chain links that has reasonably cost if you discount time to cut the chain. Grinder with cut off wheel works well. |

Carabiner and rope friendly Duplas, SimPles, and PinGo Bonier Stainless Steel Hangers are still available at very good prices. Message me for more details. |

There’s 17 stainless OP carabiners available on eBay if anyone is still searching for some at a reasonable price (I think they’re a little under $5 ea at the current bid). |

Looking to provide a bit of help to local route caretaker, but I have no idea material costs involved in replacing bolts, hangers, and anchors on say an 8-10 bolt route—generally not glue-in. Any ballpark? |
|
meemswrote: $150 for quality hardware is a good ball-park starting point for 8-10 bolts plus anchors |
|
meemswrote: Bolts are like 3.50 ea, hangers 3 ea, Quick links 2.50ea, mussy hooks are 5ea. Roughly speaking, for stainless hardware (but not hooks). Chain is like 5/ft at the most |

Connor Dobsonwrote: Assuming we are using stainless steel 1/2” and don’t have access to reduced wholesale prices, these prices are unrealisticly low IMO, and in my experience.

Dwayne La Rocawrote: EDIT (Thanks Tal!): This very thread contains plenty of hints as to where one might find deals that beat what you're seeing. Also plenty of discussions of engineering specs that might change your mind about the necessity of 1/2" bolts. All this said, good steel costs twice what it did 3 years ago, and some of the good options have disappeared in that span. But if $10.95 is anywhere close to what you're paying for hangers, then I'd love to sell you some. Cheers! |
