“Pants are complex”
These are simple, and are a good choice for guys who think we are equal to women |

I purpose going commando with pants out. Makes taking a dump super easy. Watch out for that chalk bag though... |

Unfortunately if that were true you would t post things like this asking for strangers opinions, even posting photos of how you look on the forum.
Back in fashion?!
I am, and they aren’t
You should have included the sleeping bag belay as an option, it would then at least be a funny troll job
You are the kind of fella who drives to the crag in your harness aren’t you? |

Gumby Kingwrote: True. If I remember correctly, Sasha DG has been known to climb pantless, so at least he’s following better role models |

Marc801 Cwrote: I have said 100 times that climbing is lame, if I wanna look cool I put my dog in my pants so we look like a kangaroo family. More seriously, you complain about me being a troll, then disregard stuff I say to make a cheap point which is hurtful. I have never said anything to try to hurt your feelings.
Great point! SICgripswrote: Naw be sustainable, poop into the chalk bag and dispose of it later.
That would be more efficient!
We can steer the conversation to this. While I have never bivied on a wall, I would take no issue with getting belayed from my partners sleeping bag while they tried to stay warm. I guess I am in the minority. Next time I see a runner warming up for the race I will scream they are looking for attention and are an idiot for wearing warm ups. Edit: Here is another picture of my patented technique. |

Apples to Oranges. If you can’t understand that then I‘m not sure what to tell you, but I have a feeling you very much understand the difference between the two. A main part you already addressed in the very first part of this reply. Runners wearing warm ups aren’t in the minority. |

I don't really wear pants inside or outside of my harness, I just free solo in a muumuu. But ymmv |

I tried in today and I think out is better. The issue with in is that my knee bar pad rotates with the fabric rather than skin. |

Let me tell a story about why this is an important function of climbing fashion. Yesterday was a hot day at Smith. My friends and I were trying bolt from the blue, a really long climb in the shade. There is a mandatory kneebar on the first crux so I needed to be wearing shorts for the kneebar pad also I would get too warm climbing. But I would get real cold belaying this super long route in the shade and doing nothing. Perfect situation for pants over shorts. |

Not Not MP Adminwrote: I disagree. Bruised and bloody thighs are aid because the ego boost caused by kneebarring really hard without a kneepad (and thus beinga Trve Kvlt Hard man) has extraordinary intangible value when on redpoint. The shame of using kneepads is a mental downgrade before you even get on the route far counteracting the advantage of free no hands rests. |
