YGD Project

Mountain Project needs a list of all the ways YGD. The purpose of this list is serve as a training manual for new climbers to learn how to climb safely. If the list is comprehensive, people can memorize all the behaviors, avoid them and not die. Logical right?

Example:

If you don't tie a safety knot in your rappel line... ygd 

Now all the YGD Project readers out there have one less way to die.

I will start things off.

If you take anything in this thread seriously... YGD

If you hang out with anyone named poopy diaper, kitty litter, or puppy lover your gonna die. Wait shoot that was a serious one.

If you don’t use three lockers opposite opposed on a your mega quad for a tr anchor YGD

If you don’t wear a mask in the gym. 

If you don't stick clip that first (maybe second...third...) bolt on your latest hard proj

If you don't bring a quad rack to the crag, ygd

If you don't put at least a 120cm sling on EVERY piece, it's definitely walking and YGD.

If you clip your aluminum carabiners into steel rap rings.... YGD

If you don't tie a back up overhand above your figure 8... YGD

If you don't post a pic of your pandemic home gym YGD

If you don't perfectly SERENE your anchor.....yea YGD. Also microfractures.

If you use that carabiner you dropped YGD. 

Totems or certain death

Belaying with anything other than a gri gri... YGD

Belaying with a gri gri... YGD

If you don't build your multipitch anchor with rope, YGD 

If you use a PAS, YGD
