Skin care?

I've recently been sanding down callouses with a nail file and then putting O'Keefes and Climbon on my hands and I've noticed a huge difference in when I do this and when I don't. My hands were able to stand up to this place: https://www.mountainproject.com/area/110085778/lovers-leap. What other things do you guys do to help your skin recover quickly? No trolls, please. Thanks! |

Second the sanding. I would recommend a good Feather razor for the heavy removal with some emory board sanding after that. i have found that the razor and file method keeps the thinner skin surrounding the callous from being sanded too thin. I have found the Rhino skin 'Repair' to be really helpful for the initial skin hydration, but then i seal it in there with the climb-on. Once it gets to this point ( youtube.com/watch?v=3Bj1NQ_… ) you've got a problem though! |

Invest in some nice lotion. I like this stuff. |

For splits and punctures I use Burts Bees extra strength diaper rash ointment. It's 40% zinc, and it heals the absolute worst splits I've ever gotten in two to three days under a bandaide. |

Sanding, but only to get rid of the ridge that forms toward the top of my callouses. Otherwise, I rub white distilled apple cider vinegar into my hands a few times a month. Works better than any hand lotion I’ve ever tried. |
