Seems to be after large sales, like the one OR just had (I got my ascendent jacket for like 40$) that these pop up on MP a few weeks later for 2x or 3x the price. Still a decent deal, but wtf.
I have also heard stories of people skimming for good deals on cams and then re selling them for more than they bought them. More wtf....
People who get pro deal and then beat the shit out of the equipment and then turn around and sell it for more than they bought it for. Seriously WTF....
Other than that, I love the for sale forum and use it often.

The real question would be why sell it on MP when eBay would be so much more effective and anonymous of a place to unload pro-deal gear.

Agree! Who cares. Just don’t buy the crap or over priced stuff. If that happens they will quit trying to sell it or flip it.

/end rant Totally agree. Same thing on Reddit, people openly selling gear from the Patagonia sale that sold out quickly (like R1s) for a quick $20. I scored the same Ascendant deal as you and I couldn't be more stoked about it, took it cross country skiing last weekend and it really does breathe incredibly well (still not sure I could pay $250 for it)

People on here who know better don't fall for that shit. what if the noob is perfectly happy because he still scored the jacket at 50% off (that you bought at 65% off and resold at a, gasp, profit!)? How about the time I bought a used cam from a yosemite guide I knew, and was perfectly happy to pay essentially what he paid for it, even though it had two seasons of use? Should I have been pissed, even though it was better than anything listed on MP at the time (let alone far cheaper than new)? dude... lighten TF up! or try living in a society with price controls, gov't mandated buying/selling, etc. Maybe you'll be happy in some utopia where nobody can be enterprising and make $20 off of an hours effort in buying something cheaply and selling it just a smidge less cheaply (but still at a hell of a discount over retail!). SMFH...
I swear, this "all profit is BAD!!!!" mentality has really started to infect our (previously) free society. God help us all...

I'm sometimes amazed by the prices people ask here and on FB groups, but what's more amazing is that there are people who pay them.
You can often find new gear on sale for 25% off, yet people post used gear and ask for and get just a little under retail. While I think those people suck, I can't feel bad for the suckers who can't do some homework.

ive actually seen used gear on here selling for more than retail....i usually wont buy a used item, be it gear or anything else, unless its a great deal and i can at least recoup what i paid for it were i to sell it in the same condition. or if its something that i really want/need, then i will pay the going rate. you cant fault people for trying to make a buck though. it is nice to pay it forward though if you can.

I swear, this "all profit is BAD!!!!" mentality has really started to infect our (previously) free society. God help us all... Comparing communism to selling over priced gear on MP? Sounds like a bit of an extreme example. Let me guess, you are going for a repeat in November 2020? And for all of you out there saying let the gumbies pay blah blah, what happened to the "community"? I always try and give someone on here a good deal instead of ripping them off.

Big difference between buying gear, using it, and selling it for what a customer is willing to pay, and snagging a great sale before it goes out of stock and then listing it all new with tags for more than you paid. Let some other people get in on the sale!

The same people advocating for flipping pro-deal or on sale gear are probably the same people who abuse return policies and use local gear stores to try-before-you-buy (online). Look, there's nothing saying you can't do it -- at least not legally -- but man up and admit that it makes you an asshole.
This is why we can't have nice things.
