  1. I was wondering if anyone knew of any crags with sportclimbing routes that you could backpack in to. My wife is just getting started and isn't wanting to trade climb yet.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

if you could settle for sport climbing near backpacking I'd suggest Cushman cliffs then heading up the Skok from Staircase.

'Back-country sport climbing' is pretty much an oxymoron, at least in the PNW. Best option is to go backpacking somewhere there are nice little cliffs you could set a top-rope on.  Bring some slings and a wire brush and maybe bag a FA or two!

If you can get a copy of Darryl Cramer's Sky Valley Rock, look up Holomene (?) Ridge near the end of the book. It might not be a great backpacking destination, but you probably would have the place to yourselves.

Not sure where you're at, but I'm thinking about "Lil Lover's Leap" in NW CA - mountainproject.com/area/11…

It's not full-on backpacking to get there, but it's a long approach and would be much better to have all your camp gear at the crag than having to hike back and forth from the camping/parking area.

Also has me thinking of the Menagerie climbing area, though it's a lot more mixed climbing than pure sport: mountainproject.com/area/11…

Not sure where you're located but this route is like 97% a sport route (from what I recall) with all bolted belays. I promise you'll get a full value backpacking experience getting to the bivy at the base of the wall.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
