My name is Alex (you might've guessed) and I am a graduate student living in North Carolina. I am planning to take an approximately ten day climbing trip in early/mid July this summer. I climb mid-11 gear and really enjoy splitters, tall routes in exceptional locations, and wide climbing. Onsight grade is currently around 10+/11a.

I like to get a lot of pitches into any given day, I just want to climb as much as possible :). I am ideally looking for someone based out of the Southeast US so that we could climb together a few times before committing to a bigger trip.

Possible destinations and routes include, but are not limited to (and in no particular order):

The Bugaboos

  • Sunshine Crack, Becky-Chouinard

Squamish

  • Freeway, Grand Wall

High Sierra - The Hulk

  • Positive Vibrations, Sunspot Dihedral, Polish Route, etc.

Long's Peak - The Diamond Area

  • Pervertical, Yellow Wall

Longer routes I have done include: Red Dihedral, The Cruise, and Steck-Salathe. Basically I want to go somewhere awesome and bag a bunch of classic routes between 5.10- and mid 5.11. If there's an area I left off this list that you are stoked on and need a partner, send me a message. Maybe we can work something out! I also love to sport climb and would be interested in a trip to Smith Rock or Rifle, although I would rather scratch my itch for something tall and wild this summer.

I will be in Sierra in late June, The Bugs in July/August.
Solid plan so far is a snow/ice course in Canmore in early July. Other than
that, flexible. Have scattered partners showing interest during that time
frame.

I’ve done Leaning Tower, Red Dihedral, P5 of Positive
Vibrations, attempted Lotus Flower Tower and etc. Beckey-Chouinard is my goal
for the summer. Might be good to partner in Sierra in June.

Cheers.

Nicole.

Hey guys, I'm trying to make it to the Sierras or the Bugs this summer as well. As of right now it's mid June to mid July for me but it may change to a little later. I've done a few climbs in the Tetons and can lead in the low to mid 11s trad. I wanna make it up the Beckey-Chouinard!

It looks like there are three people in this thread (me, Cody, Nicole) interested in heading to the Bugaboos this summer. If we could find one more and agree on dates that could drive the cost of a rental car down to not-so-insane. Thoughts?

I have a friend who's planning for two weeks. Her schedule is flexible.

Hey Alana, we're gonna be up there starting the 4th of July.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
