"Splitter" as an adjective

Using the word "splitter" to describe anything other than a crack is stupid and obnoxious. This goes for "splitter weather", "splitter weekend", and any other usage.

That's all.

Calling them "people" is charitable at best. I prefer "d-bag". And by that, of course I mean dudebroman bag, because I wouldn't want to violate guideline #1.

Didn't I have an extended rant about this a couple years ago? Or was it "rig"?

Do women in need of haircuts on the front range complain of "splitter hair"?

Still not feeling sorry for you guys for having to put up with this based on the sheer amount of rock you can drunkenly stumble to...

Ironically these posts are almost as old as the "it's not going to happen" meme (Mean Girls, 2004).

Back in 1755 Samuel Johnson had something to say about this.

"May the lexicographer be derided, who being able to produce no example of a nation that has preserved their words and phrases from mutability, shall imagine that his dictionary can embalm his language... Academies have been instituted, to guard the avenues of their languages, to retain fugitives, and repulse intruders; but their vigilance and activity have hitherto been vain..."

What if I only say it as a joke to make fun of people who say it? Similar to bruh...

I caught myself before I replied "Splitter" to a non-climbing friend's "How's the weather out there now?" question the other day.

"Splitter" when applied to weather doesn't bother me as much as 'rig' or mis-use of 'dirtbag' for some reason. Perhaps, because there is nothing more awesome to hear than a forecast calling for "splitter weather" after all this monsoonal moisture?...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
