Hey All,

I'm going to be photographing a couple of guys in Zion on long routes next week and I'm tossing around different methods of how to stay ahead of the leader.

So far, the best I've come up with besides leader fixing and re-leading is:

a) Hike or scramble to the top and then rap a couple of statics and shoot the middle to end of a route. This limits what we can do.

b) Find someone fast to lead, fix, lead, fix, lead, fix.

I'll be jugging every pitch on a fixed static to shoot.

Sooooo, I need a dedicated leader for a couple days next week. Is anyone interested?

This is what I do ryandaythompson.com

I'm in my portfolio building process.

The PM system hasn't worked out so well for me so, if you're interested, send me a proper email.

What routes, and how much are you paying?

Ryan, just fyi. don't take Mike A's post offensively. i'm about 99.9% sure he didn't mean it that way at all. that's a long day and allot of hanging out/waiting or whatever. Depending on the route, that could be an outright miserable time for the leader. Good luck!

Are you buying me beer at least?

LOL. I've been talking to one fellow named Chad. No for sure response back yet though.

Yes, it would suck royally for the leader to even do a day of this. Lookin' for some climbing community love :-)

Incentive? I'll pay for your beer/wine/food/campsite/I have an annual pass. I'm not actually getting paid for anything yet myself though otherwise I WOULD be paying. Sorry Mike.

We'll start shooting the long stuff on Wednesday. We'll probably be done Friday or Saturday.

Anyone who is interested still, even for a single day, let me know.

I'm leaving email etc. so call me: 303-887-1223

Also, I'm not really sure on routes. I think we may be doing Monkey Finger and some Angel's Landing stuff.

Again, I've thought through the whole anchor/rap/shoot/jug ordeal and it doesn't seem like the best idea since I've never even been on any of these routes and wouldn't know if I was on route or not.

Angel's landing is closed, I think. The link below may help you narrow down your route choices.
