One of the features I use the most on this site is the favorite areas feature. It easily allows me to keep up on the latest additions to areas that I care the most about. It would be great if we could designate "favorite" people too. With the way the climbing community, and as a result many of my friends, are scattered it would sure be nice to see if my "favorite" people have contributed anything, without having to go through each of them individually.

Yeah, I also vote myself as the most favorite person of ALL the most favorite people. This pretty much shuts this thread down. Sorry. Just know that I love you all for the overwhelming popularity vote. See ya on the rocks!

Hmmm. I've never used Tribe, Friendster, or MySpace, but somehow I've got to think this sounds familiar, no?

Ok, ok... I'm not asking to have my favorite people displayed on my personal page (like they are on myspace, and by the way how is it that all of you slagging it happen to know so much about it?) so that everyone can see how cool I am and how many friends I have (you should all know that already). I'm asking to have a way to quickly and easily see when changes/contributions are made by my friends on this site. For me the best way to do this (as I've already said, before you all started hijackassing this thread) would be to have the ability to add people to my favorites in the same way I add places to my favorites. That way I don't have to spend the time of looking at each of my friends personal pages to see if they've added photos, or routes, or comments etc. I could just see that nothing is new with my friends (or maybe we could call them partners, despite the term's somewhat confused meaning these days) and go on with my surfing... Anyway, I hope that clarifies my idea a little, I'm not trying to turn this place into a teenie-bopper-clique-fest, I'm simply suggesting an idea that would save me (and hopefully other people who use this site to keep up with their friends instead of just constant internet bitch-fests) a few minutes here and there. So sorry if I offended those of you who are way too cool for everybody else...

I hear ya James, and I agree, I frequently have t search around to find my friends personal pages to find out if they have added anything lately that isn't in my Whats New:Favorite Places menu. It would be nice to be able to bookmark their personal pages, or to somehow be able to quickly access what my 'Favorite People' have posted recently.

Nice try at making a real suggestion James, what a surprise it keeps getting derailed. Oh, there must be some proud people out there.

Sometimes good threads needs a little ramping up. Look at the date on the 1st post and the date of the 2nd. This sucker was DEAD! And just because people are unanimously voting for me for class fave instead of you, don't get all hurt.

I had a mid-wife crisis once. She left before cutting and tying my umbilical cord, so now I have to wear a male one piece to the beach. Boy, you talk about embarassing.

we're just having a little light hearted humor. Honestly, I think the idea about contributions should be more on content than who did or said what. But, if you wanted to designate a group of your friends on your personal page; no big deal, it'd go similar to the tick list idea. Hank is definitely not cool, he's a texan. The fact that he wears our state flag on his socks around Eldo, is well .. Hank, those socks are classic!

Some pretty broad generalizations coming from someone who doesn't know me. I was just funnin with ya cupcake. I'll back off. Try not to take things on the little screen so seriously.
