Description Suggest change

One of Acadia’s most obscure climbing areas, North Bubble is best known for the route Masquerade 5.10a. However there are two other routes in the 5.10+ range, making for a worthwhile day of adventure climbing. Expect approach shenanigans, surprisingly clean rock, spicy climbing and incredible views of Eagle Lake and Cadillac Mountain.

Getting There Suggest change

There is no formal approach trail for North Bubble, but the route is fairly straightforward to navigate. See the approach trail on the map for reference.
Park at South Bubble and begin hiking up the trail to the summit, you’ll quickly reach a junction with Jordan Pond Carry trail. Follow this gently downhill until you reach a junction with the Carriage Road. Take a left and walk along the road until you reach an abandoned gravel roadbed on your left. This quickly dead ends into the woods, but serves as a good landmark for where to start hiking uphill. Bushwhack up and right until you see a slab on your right. Continue up the talus, keeping the slab to your right, until you see a cairned path across an overgrown ledge system. Follow this above the slab until you reach a small alcove with bolts visible on the wall above, you’ve arrived at the North Bubble crag.
