Description
Only one documented route exists on this peak, likely due to its relatively secluded position deep on the glacier. The southwest ridge is composed of unusually friable granite, quite different from the generally solid rock found elsewhere in the park. Expect loose sections and variable rock quality throughout. Crampons are recommended for the approach and walk off.
Getting There
From Thor shelter walk NNE along the Weasel river from 4,6km. You will almost reach the next moraine. From there, hike up the grassy terrace toward Mount Northumbria. Traverse the glacier creek close to the tongue of the glacier and follow the moraine. Good bivy spot at the end of the moraine, 4.3km 700m vertical gain. From the bivy spot, you can see Mount Sheehan. Hike up the glacier 1.5km NW to gain the peak.
