Description
Majority sport crag with a few trad routes on slate. The quarry consists of a long trench cut into the hillside with views opening up into Little Langdale to the North. Routes are mostly ten to twenty meters tall with varying rock quality. Many routes are still new and as such loose rock and breaking holds are more common than at more established historic crags. Most bolted anchors can be accessed from above and as such setting up top ropes is a breeze.
Getting There
Drive to Tiberthwaite Farm (parking available at the car park immediately after the small bridge), walk through the set of gates and take the left fork in the paths leading over the hill. follow the path until another gate, then loop around left on the outside of the scree and uphill. The lower section of the mine is immediately accessible, for the upper and middle portions continue up and across a bridge to find a makeshift stone archway allowing entry.
