Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

This small, mostly sunny cliff is located about 50 yards south of Park Boulevard/Quail Springs Road near the west edge of Keys Wash. Across the road and just north up the wash is Miniscule Crag.

During the normal JT climbing season, the cliff is in the sun in the morning and shade in the late afternoon. The cliff is quite sheltered from the cold north winds of winter.

Getting There

The crag is located adjacent to Keys Wash, which is just east of Voice's Crag and the Boy Scout/Willow Hole Trail parking area. Park on the side of Park Boulevard/Quail Springs Road near Keys Wash. The crag is clearly visible from the road as it faces SE.
