Description
The east face of Blodgett is the biggest wall on the mountain and can be seen from about anywhere in town.
The left side of the formation is comprised of big loose blocks and ledges. Routes on that side are "adventurous" and very loose. Tread with caution if you explore there. I climbed a couple lines on that side, hoping to find a nice easy to moderate scramble, but I never found a pitch over there I would want to repeat.
On the right (north) side of the face, however, you will find a very solid panel of granite about 400' tall. Nice thin cracks can be linked up to featured face climbing.
As of now, there is no good trail to the base, but with a little research you can find a good path from the gully trail, then branching up the good boulder fields below it. Perhaps one day there will be some better, more sustainable trails in this open space for both hikers and climbers.
