While this rock is only 30’ from the road with no fence or posted signs, it is still legally private property aside from some number of feet of legal ditch from the road.
That being said, we met the landowner on the way to the wall Oct 5 and asked for permission to climb this patch of rocks.
He surprisingly enthusiastically gave us permission.
While this is not an absolute permission slip for all climbers it’s a good sign that the landowner will be accommodating to people hitting up SWERVE bloc as long as we are respectful, aren’t blaring music and trashing the place.
As of now access is on good terms. Please adhere to the following ideas when you come out to SWERVE Bloc.
1. Bring 1 car only. Park in a nearby town and carpool here. Multiple cars will freak people out that come around the corner.
2. Don’t blare music. There are farmhouses nearby and you can hear people talk all the way across properties in the mornings bc it’s so remote and quiet.
3. Leave No Trace and help pickup beer bottles and trash people toss out here when they’re slowing down. We can improve this place!
4. If anyone gives you trouble be respectful. I’ve climbed here 5 times and only once has a car driven by.
