Description
Wal is SouthWest Facing. So it gets shade in the morning and the sun is low enough behind distant mountains that the 2 or so hours before sunset can also be a good time to go (though the rock has been cooked by that point so it's still not fun in the summer).
Getting There
After entering the area (past the paystation at the hotel/hostel area). Cross the wooden bridge and follow the trail. The first fork comes early, stick to the right branch. At the next fork, there's the option to continue forward and head down hill, or head to the right up hill. Stick left and notice the trail begins to drop down hill. You'll have the option to cross over a creek and pass through a big rock tunnel (some images shown). Then the trail veers left going along a railing and some poured cement to your right protecting you from a big drop into the creek.
If this is confusing, just remember to continue to keep to the left and you'll be fine. You'll see a sign on the left (pictured) which shows the route grades (no names) and shortly after that, the routes will be on your left as you approach the right most end of the amphitheater.
Total approach time 15-20 mins
