Description

Nuevo sector con roca de calidad en Arequipa, con andesita (tipo de basalto) y conglomerado. Ubicado en una quebrada tranquila en las faldas del volcano Chachani, con una grande cueva y rutas en ambos lados. Se encuentra sombra en la mayor parte del dia. A mas de 3500m puede ser frio, llevar abrigo!

New sector of quality rock in Arequipa, with andesite (type of basalt) and conglomerate. Located in a peaceful creek on the way up to Chachani volcano, with a big cave and some routes on both sides of it. Shade most of the day, at over 3500m it can be cold, bring a good jacket!

Getting There

Idealmente ir con carro privado, demora 30-40 minutos desde el centro. Es en parte trocha, pero cualquier carro puede llegar. Estacionar al costado de la carretera. De ahi, caminar 15 minutos para llegar a las primeras rutas (lado izquierdo). Bajar, cruzar la quebrada y volver a subir para llegar a la cueva y a las rutas del lado derecho.

Ideally with private car, 30-40 minutes drive from city center, partly on a dirt road but any car can get there. Park on the side of the road. From there you can see the wall and the cave. Then walk up about 15 minutes to reach the first routes. Go down, then cross the creek and back up to reach the cave.
