Thunder Dome Buttress

Thunder Dome Buttress is ready for prime time climbing!!!

Enjoy alpine cragging on tall, steep, very overhanging in places, pinkish white what looks to be glacially polished igneous/quartzite rock. Also, a handful of overhanging corners and dihedrals and roofs will offer challenging and exhilarating mixed protection adventures and will surely draw climbers back again and again due to its fun athletic climbing style and its convenient and close proximity to Silverton. This buttress sits on the west side of the road across from the parking lot to Stairway To Heaven. It's an easy 5 minute hike straight up the screefield. Please bring no less than a 70m rope, and be familiar with the rap locations.
