Description
Did you forget about the falcon closures at Tanner Dome but drove to the parking lot already? Do you want to climb some trad routes but don’t want to approach more than 30 seconds? No problem, Falcon Crag has you covered.
Falcon Crag is a 40 foot high wall directly northeast of the Tanner Dome parking lot with the shortest approach around at about 30 seconds, 200 feet, and minus 5 feet of elevation gain. Falcon Crag faces SW, so it gets shade in the morning. The surroundings are quite beautiful with a small creek at the base and a large flat, grassy base area perfect for if you have non-climbers in your group or want to set up a camping chair.
While the climbs are not the best in the Wets, the value of the climbs are hard to beat for such a short approach.
This wall is not affected by the Tanner Dome falcon closures.
