HUMAN WASTE: Human waste is a major issue plaguing the area. The Southern Nevada Climbers Coalition (SNCC) works to provide "wag bags" free of charge in several locations: Black Velvet Canyon, The Hamlet, Kraft Mountain Area, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor. These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out. Consider bringing one to be part of your daily kit no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly. Do not throw them in the toilets at the parking areas.
See https://www.southernnevadaclimbers.org/wag-bags for more information on the program.
Description
The upper tier is formed by the left side of a small gulley. On the outside, James Brown is the obvious brown streak and leftmost route on the wall. James Brown faces south and receives sun all day. The rest of the climbs are inside of an east-facing gulley that should be shaded most of the day by the opposite wall, except for a short period midday.
Getting There
See parent area for approach instructions. Once at the larger platform of the lower tier, head farther left beyond the gulley before cutting back right to avoid an unpleasant encounter with the bush in the gulley. There is a small platform directly below James Brown before entering the narrow gulley.
