If you use chalk on the rock, brush it off when you are done. If you use tick marks, brush them off when you are done. Wipe your feet off prior to each climbing attempt. Excess chalk and any dirt, leaves, or mud can polish holds over time. Do not drag your pad from one climb to the next (in order to minimize erosion). And most importantly, Leave No Trace. Pick up your trash and place it in the trash cans at the trail head.
Description
Clean face climbing! There’s several routes here that are of the same quality as the New River classic faces. This wall has a mixture of sport routes, mixed routes, and trad routes, so pay attention to what you’re getting on. If you see bolts, don’t just assume it’s fully equipped.
Getting There
From Ridge Trail, take a left onto the climber’s trail at the sign labeled “Solar Slabs Climbing Area”. Continue about 0.3 miles, turning left at another sign, passing the base of Plated Wall, and continuing climber’s right through the rock garden for about 100 yards until you arrive at Solar Slabs Proper.
