Description Suggest change

These closely packed routes rise up off an unexposed platform twenty feet off the valley floor. It receives sun from roughly noon to early evening, making it a great cool-day hang. Nearly every route starts with a difficult few steep pulls on large holds, then ease up—you might feel the route is harder than the grade from the initial sequence getting off the deck, but then the climbing will ease several grades, making up for the tough start.

The YDS grading system is not the best for this type of terrain. It would certainly be better to give it a V grade for the start, then a YDS for the rest, but MP doesn't have that flexibility.

The easiest way to sort out what route is what is to go to the obvious inside corner in the middle of the platform. That is the route Relevant to My Interests. It's pretty easy to figure things out from that landmark.

Recommended:

  1. One For the Dirty Girls (.10b)
  2. Relevant To My Interests (.10c)
  3. Joey Jo Jo Jr. Shabadoo (.11a)
  4. Higgs Boson (.11b)

Getting There Suggest change

The Platform is very easy to identify as it sits perched twenty-five feet off the valley floor. Get there by skirting the cliff base on the right side of the cave, heading past the barbwire fence, then up a few stairs to the mouth of Non-Aggro Gully where you can backtrack onto the platforms right side. Alternatively, from the road, pass through the fence. In about fifty feet you will see a trail start to lead up to the gully.
