ALL SEASONAL CLIMBING CLOSURES FOR CLIMBING AND SLACKLINING WILL BE LIFTED ON FRIDAY, JULY 7TH THIS WEEK.
THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP IN OBSERVING RESTRICTIONS DURING THE NESTING SEASON!
There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description
Sharing the same dihedral start as Relevant to My Interests, this line splits left after the fifth bolt, following the corner up and left a few more clips via perfect stone to a ledge below a small roof.
The second boulder crux here generates almost as many unique solutions as ascents, many of which feel a lot harder than the grade suggests.
Both the climber and belayer need to take care through this upper crux as their lies the potential for a backslap during a fall should there be too much play in the system , which is why I'm labeling this PG-13. This threat is real--I know personally of one instance of it which caused minor hospitalization.
