Description

Wide roof holding several classic steep problems. This area was included in the original blue ridge bouldering .pdf and I don't know why it wasn't shared sooner on Mountain Project.

Getting There

From Rockfish Gap, drive south on the parkway to mile 8.8/8.9 and park at the Humpback Rocks picnic area. Note, this is NOT the same parking area as Humpback Rocks or the Humpback Rocks visitor center. You can either park in the grass shoulder on the side of the parkway or park within the picnic area. To find the boulder, walk back North along the parkway maybe 50-100 yards to a culvert which runs under the road. Walk straight uphill from the culvert into the woods maybe 100-150 yards. This is a single standalone boulder with a wide roof.
