Description
One of the oldest bouldering area's in Red Feather, this area has seen activity since the late '90s. Located on the western edge of the Ben Delatour Boy Scout Ranch, this large area is centered around a massive dome comprised of massive boulders. Famous problem here include: Lunge of Fun, V4; The Stupa, V9; Shambhala Traverse, V9; and Proper Hoodlum, V6 among many others. Route climbing also exists at the Ceremonies, but the development is ongoing and in progress.
ACCESS ISSUE: please be respectful of the Ben Delatour Boy Scout Ranch property. The infamous Toucan Boulder (Vampire, Space Between Cars) is located near the Ceremonies but is firmly on Boy Scout property. Please do not cause access issues for the rest of the Red Feather Lakes climbing community.
Getting There
From Livermore, head west on the Boy Scout Road (CR 74E), then turn left on the Boy Scout Road (CR 68C). After about 3 miles, park on your right at an obvious, green Forest Service gate on a left hand turn. Walk north on the old two tracks until the massive dome of boulders comes into view.
For the Proper Hoodlum zone, park on the CR 68C about 50 yards before the green gate. Walk north about 5 minutes uphill from the road to find that zone.
